We consider you part of our Metro Hotel family.

Under San Francisco’s Shelter in Place directive, The Metro Hotel closed on March 17th, 2020. The safety and welfare of our guests are our utmost concern. Therefore we have decided to remain closed till January 1st, 2021.

Our business is serving and connecting people, during this Coronavirus outbreak, we understand that you may be experiencing additional stress. In response to the COVID-19, we would like to share actions The Metro Hotel is taking to allow for more flexibility regarding your upcoming travel.

Waiving Change and Cancellation Fees:

We are temporarily adjusting our policies to allow for maximum flexibility to help you make the right decisions regarding travel at this time. All existing reservations made for arrivals between March 17th and January 1st, 2021, have been canceled at no charge.

Any reservation made after March 13th, 2020, can be changed or canceled at no charge up to 24 hours before our 3 pm check-in time. Cancellations must be made by email at info@metrohotelsf.com. Please include your reservation confirmation number and reservation dates.

Guests who booked via online travel agents or any other third parties, are advised to contact their booking provider for information on their policy.

Cleanliness and care:

As we settle into our new reality of social distancing, our top priority is keeping you informed.

For our guests and staff, the biggest concern in the COVID era is cleanliness. The Metro Hotel will continue to provide safe, clean environments. Our commitment is to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness. We want you to feel at ease when you come to stay with us.

We thought it would be a good time to share a few updates and our cleaning methodologies at The Metro Hotel.

  • Housekeeping will wear a pair of disposable gloves and a mask for every cleaning.
  • Daily cleaning includes surfaces in the room will be wiped down with disinfectant cleaners from the EPA list to use against emerging viral pathogens. Including these additional hotspots, TV remote controls, light switches.
  • Our laundry methodology includes using the warmest possible water for the fiber content.
  • Chlorine bleach or an oxygen-based bleach additive added to each wash.
  • Completely drying the linens provide an additional microbicidal activity.
  • All laundry bags washed after every use. The laundry room disinfected daily with approved cleaners from the EPA list.
  • The staff is trained to wash their hands often and to use sanitizing gel.
  • Hand sanitizer stations for our guests.
  • Increasing the frequency of disinfecting commonly used spaces; the front desk: door handles: banisters: room keys.
  • An additional barrier is present at the front desk for protection of our guests and staff.
