Bean Bag Café: Since 1992, this café has been popular with locals for its organic and fair trade coffee, outdoor seating, brunch, and happy hour from 3 – 10 p.m.! It's only a four-minute walk to their location at 601 Divisadero Street. 415-563-3634.

Ben & Jerry's: Stop in for a cool treat at Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop in Haight Ashbury. Get a favorite flavor by the scoop, or in a sundae, or whipped up in a smoothie or shake. Just about a 15-minute walk to 1480 Haight Street. 415-626-4143.

Chile Pies: Find the perfect slice of sweet or savory freshly baked pie at this little shop, part of the Green Chile Kitchen family. They also have ice cream, ice cream cookie sandwiches, and ice cream pies available at 601 Baker Street. Open daily from noon to 10 p.m. and just a 10-minute walk. 415-614-9411.

KK Café: This friendly neighborhood café open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A two-minute walk from The Metro Hotel located at 252 Divisadero Street. 415-626-6188.

The Mill: Get a fresh, hot cup of coffee or artisanal bread at The Mill. They also host a special Monday pizza night and Wednesday grilled cheese and soup night. The Mill is located at 736 Divisadero Street, about six minutes from us, and right near Alamo Square and the Painted Ladies. 415-345-1953.

Three Twins Ice Cream: You'll find classic flavors with a quirky twist at 254 Fillmore Street, just nine minutes away. 415-487-TWIN.

Vinyl: Coffee bar by day wine bar by night with a low-key menu. Located just a couple of doors down at 359 Divisadero Street. 415-621-4132.
