Events

From hosting concerts to Film Night in San Francisco and pop-up shops, there's always something fun going on around Union Square. The Square is immensely popular in the winter when it lights up with sparkling lights and a giant Christmas tree to celebrate the festive holiday season.

Getting There

It's easy to get to Union Square by car; it has 10 parking areas and garages around the shopping district, with hourly parking starting around $6 or $30 for the day. You can also take the cable cars for $6 a ride with stops along Powell Street. MUNI metro and buses also service the area with the metro stop at Powell St. Station and several stops for buses in Union Square. If you're already out and about, a walk to the district is easy from Yerba Buena Gardens, Chinatown, Lombard Street, Nob Hill, Fisherman's Wharf, and North Beach.
